My dog has 3 warts on her head and one enlarged (b)(R)(ea)(st). The vet says they are most likely mast cell tumors, very common in boxers. A week from monday I'll have them surgically removed and analized. If they are cancerous and at stage 2 or 3 I'll not do any further treatment(radiation or chemo). She is a dog and won't understand why I'm making her feel like cr@p. May 4th is her 10th birthday and 11 is the most you can expect from a boxer.

They removed 4 masses today and it could be two weeks before we get the test results back. Picking her up in the morning. This will be the last surgery and there won't be any chemo or radiation. She is a dog and this is pain enough to put her through.

My dog had surgery last year, and he loved getting the royal treatment during his recovery time. - Even the stoic low maintenance ones appreciate a little spoiling. Glad she's home.

Thanks a couple of the incisions where bigger than I'd thought. One is essentially a masectomy. Pain pills are used up hopefully she doesn't need them anymore.

It looks like it's going to heal without resewing. It might mean she has a scar over her eyebrow. I do think it is starting to itch and she rubbed it onher blanket.

Years ago we had a collie mix that tangled with a boar coon, he had some rather deep slashes across his chest. They healed fine without stitches..By the time we found him--- he hid for a few days the cuts were on their way to healing so vet said leave em be.

The test results are back. There were two types of tumors but both were benign. There are several more small ones still in place but by the time they grow too big it will be too late to beat old age.

Sigh. Trudy had a seizure Sunday night. Monday the vet tested her and found that her thyroid was low and that her kidney function wasn't the best. Giving her thyroid suppliment for a month and will see if it helps. If the seizures come back it will be time for us to part ways for a while.
