My Score total for the fall:
First neighbor: 18 bags (tied closed real tight; new neighbor) neighborhood raid: 22 bags (he came and helped load, 2 trips) First neighbor: 15 bags (not so tight on the tie) Second neighbor: 28 bags
Filled 3 chain link compost bins 4', covered south side garden, strawberry bed, half of north garden, and topped off 2 compost cages 4' tall that are on top of tree stumps LOL And I still have 2 bags waiting to top something off.
Also had 15 bags of grassclippings saved to spread on top of the leaves.
I still think I should have mulched the winter wheat with grass clippings, but the old man said not to LOL

Ya Can't go out picking up leaves anymore but I get them just the same. I got an entire yard of leaves from a lot of several trees plus what blows in from neighboring yards. I took a mess of pics and will likely need 2 pages for them. That was a lot of work. You can see I lost a lot of weight . As a matter of fact I lost a couple of feet in height too. Resting today. Leaf raiding this season is interesting to say the least. I took the youngest for a pull in the wagon today. Found a couple bags of leaves. He walked home with me. Wagon was needed for other stuff. (It wasn't far - he just looked at me kinda funny ) It sucks not having a 2nd running vehicle. Lol. This'll change.

I got several bags from my neighbours (Great Conversation starter with my new neighbours BTW last fall and packed the composter as tight as I could with leaves, then put them prolly 6 inches deep in the veggie garden and the corner surrounding the composter. Once the cold weather set in of course, the composter stops cooking so I've still got 3 or 4 big paper leaf bags full of leaves in the shed. Doesn't sound like much compared to the amounts that some of the members here have scored, but I live on a tiny city lot now and I still need room for the house!

Actually, I'll prolly be using the ones in the composter this year and then using the ones in the bags as a base for next years mold, but I guess it all depends what they look like once the heat hits them.

Just an update on the fall leaves I spread on the garden last fall ... went and scraped back the grass clippings and leaves to plant this week and found the leaves all wet and mushy and slimy and the soil nice and moist and about half of the grass clipping mat starting to get mushy too * I also noticed that the compost bins are down about 2' from the second top off with leaves ... I have had to water them in several times over the past month or so because we have been so warm and dry, but that is OK as thar be bugs in dem dar leafs ;D I suppose I ought to stick my hand down in there to see how warm it is now LOL
