We have woods behind our house so the wind blows leaves onto our property. I've dumped about five wheelbarrow loads onto the garden. Would have gotten more but my foot started hurting. I have tendonitis. Looks like I'm going to have to lay off for a couple days and see how it feels.

Does this count as leaf raiding? I called the power company yesterday and had to leave a message with their forester. He called back today and yes, they have a program to drop off chipped branch cuttings. He puts your name on a list and when they have a crew working in your area, they'll drop it off. Said I should get a load this coming week. 1 load is equivalent of 3-5 pickup truck loads.
Need a way to get this from front to back for the garden. My tote bin on the total trolley ain't gonna cut it. Didn't find any wheel barrows or garden carts at any garage sales or resale shops, but the lady at the last resale shop called her husband to see if he wanted to sell any of his (apparently he has 3 or 4). So for $25 I have an all-steel wheel barrow.
May not technically be leaf raiding, but I'm happy! I figure it's close enough.

gotta steal......errrrrrrrrr borrow somma dawgs chips when they come in. shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare please?lol Well now. I figure the first load I'll be able to put to use purely as mulch and pathway fill-in. Been thinking I'll probably need another load after that for compost piles. So I should have plenty then.......

it just hit me. does the dawg mean sumpin else when he talks about chips and dips? might be talking bout redneck composting? grins Well, I figure grass clippings shouldn't be in short supply with all this rain we've been getting [just started another thunderstorm about 1/2 hour ago], so I figure I'll curb raid grass clippings all summer and dump on the chips in the pathways. As I said above, I figure I'll make up some traditional compost piles from the chips and use grass clippings for those as well. If we have an encore performance of last summer's drought, well it won't do me much good for next year, but if we get regular rain, who knows - it might be ready for next year.
