Saw 'A Time to Kill' tonight, and it is an excellent one. Thanks for recommending it, dobber. Definitely is an emotional one, and wow......what a summation.

One more for ya. Saw the latest Batman move. It's goood! It starts a little slow and Bane is a little hard to understand. He has a mask over his mouth. But the last half hour is ACTION PACKED and full of twists. Go see it!

I too like westerns, The Hangin Tree QuigleyDown Under Three Rode Together The Bravados Treasure of the Sierra Madres The Three Godfathers True Grit - haven't seen the remake The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance Many more I can't think of right now.
Old movies like: To Kill a Mockingbird Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte Whatever Happened to Baby Jane Vertigo Rear Window Suspicion Gone With the Wind Flight of the Phoenix with James Stewart
Also like: Muriel's Wedding The Rat Race A Fish Called Wanda Monty Python and the Holy Grail Shutter Island Raisin' Arizona Lord of the Rings, and looking forward to the Hobbit but ticked that it too will be released in 3 parts. That's a stretch as far as I'm concerned.

My absolute favourites are what the bleep do we know and home (the only glorified VHS I own!)
I *love* my features and im actually annoyied with redbox and Netflix because they don't tell you if there are features on the disks the lack of features is why I waited till eragon was on Disney to watch it --why initally pitch the switch to DVD because there are features then release something that clearly dosent take up the full 4.5 gigs that could have easily been released on a VHS? By the features that came with it? (language tracks no commentaries and menus lol nothing else that's a glorified VHS as far as I care and it deserves to be a VHS as far as I care!)
Now most people that know me will say that x-men is my favourite which I do own all between blue and DVD lol I also love pandora-avatar (a year later there was also avatar the last air bender) I actually own the first release blue (included DVD) and 2nd release blue lol the "collectors edition" with like 3 blues (each blue holds 25 gigs)
I lol also like good plane movies/shows lol stuff that makes you think is allways good living with the complete idiot that I do live with lol
Public enemies (wow read the case from 10 feet away the thin side lol) it was our bank they shot up and the tellers and all weren't there last time I was there which was sence the movie came out lol

The Ultimate Gift is one of my favorites. It's about a spoiled young guy who is trying to get his grandfather's inheritance, but 1st has to follow instructions for a series of gifts, some of which seem at 1st like anything but.
We Are Marshall is another one I really liked. Besides going to college there, it's a great story about bouncing back from terrible obstacles.
The Princess Bride is way up there too-- the humor is too good!

Hey! I saw "Here comes the Boom" with Kevin James and Henry Winkler. If you're a fan of either, go see the movie. I went not knowing what the movie was about. Had I known, I probably wouldn't have gone and would have missed a good movie. I'd give it a B+.

Got another one to recommend. The Dh & I rent "The Amazing Spiderman" over the weekend, per a friend's recommendation. At first I thought this movie wasn't that old to be doing a remake of it. So I wasn't interested in it but the friend said it was good.
It WAS good. Worth renting. Good remake with a few new twists to keep you interested.

Saw "The Hobbit" yesterday. It's good. If you saw the "Lord of the Rings" series, its similar in nature, but still entertaining to watch. Before you go, it's not 1 movie. It'll be 3! I didn't quite realized that when I went to see it. I was surprised the movie left off where it did. Seemed more like the middle of a movie than the end! It is almost 3 hours long too. It is entertaining so the time goes by faster than you realize.

I saw it yesterday, too. It was good, better than I expected. There is a lot of backstory, and the movie departed from the book in a couple of places (partly to fill out backstory, and partly to be consistent with the ways the three LOTR movies departed from their respective books). Still, in in most respects the story was consistent with the book. Visually it's a feast, as you'd expect. I saw it in 3D in an IMAX theatre, which made it pretty overwhelming during some of the action scenes. DH and I had quibbles with the Thorin character, and some of the other dwarves. He complained that Thorin and some of the younger dwarves don't look sufficiently dwarf-like. I can see his point there. My quibble is that I thought Thorin should be older. I mean, who read the book and pictured Thorin as good-looking with no wrinkles, seriously? And a couple of the younger dwarves (like Kili) eye candy. Odd. At least Bombur was as round as I expected. I knew they were breaking the book into three movies, so I expected it to stop in the middle of the story. I think they chose a good break point. Now I am looking forward to the other two installments.

I really enjoyed that movie, too. Smaug was awesome - really terrific special effects. The barrel scene was great, too. I think most of the characters are very well done. Bilbo in particular is dead-on. However, I did have a hard time with the blatant (deliberate?) ignorance of the laws of physics, though. Seriously, they had a dwarf ride a metal shield down a river of molten metal? With his fingers sticking out over the edge inches from the glowing hot surface, no less? Afterwards they have the dwarf hop off the shield like the ride was no big deal, and his clothes and hair are not even singed? I guess they have never heard of either conduction or radiation. He should have been dead almost instantly, and there should have been a little pile of smoldering dwarf ashes in the shield by the end of the ride. That's assuming the shield itself didn't just melt into the river of gold. I am willing to cut moviemakers a fair amount of slack if the movie is otherwise good, but that scene really stretched credulity. Maybe dwarves are magical beings that are somehow fireproof, but his clothes should have burned off, at least. Of course, they wouldn't have been able to maintain that PG-13 rating. And they weren't going for nekkid dwarf humor, I guess. Of course, they set the precedent for "not really all that terribly hot lava" when Gollum didn't catch fire instantly after he fell into the lava at Mount Doom in The Return of the King. Then Frodo and Sam survived unharmed after sitting on a rock maybe ten feet above an entire lake of lava. Notice that the eagles' wings didn't catch fire when they swooped down to pick them up, either. (Yes, yes, I know that they survive by climbing a rock outcropping in the book. But in the book the rock outcropping is described as being considerably larger and taller than the one in the movie - so they were a lot farther away from the lava. And nowhere in the books is it implied that either Hobbits or Gollum have flame-retardant properties.) Anyway, rant off. Other than the dumb physics, it was a great movie. Lots of fun. I am really looking forward to the last installment, but I am not sure how Peter Jackson is going to stretch the remaining story into another whole movie. He must be adding a lot of things that are not in the book, greatly expanding some things that are merely hinted at in the book, and working in some more screen time for the LOTR actors. My DH said (and I agree) that he would have done better to make The Hobbit as two movies rather than three.
