Probably right now my favorite is still the Lord of the Rings trilogy. It was among my favorite reading back when and the movies did it justice.
We will not talk about the animated movie that someone took a half-hearted stab at. It was pitiful.
I don't have a favorite genre. Comedy, action, mystery, sometimes a horror flick. Hey even a few chick flicks that I watch with my wife turn out pretty good.

I recently watched a fascinating two hour documentary on the making of "Dances with Wolves". If you get a chance to see it, I highly recommend the documentary. I gained respect for Kevin Costner, when I found out how determined he was, and how hard he worked to make his vision of the film work. He really bucked the system--took some big risks. Hollywood was treating him like a loser over this movie, calling it Kevin's Gate and Kevin's Folly. The film cost $19 million dollars to make. It netted $424,200,000 at the box office and won seven Oscars. However, it was not the number one film of 1990, "Home Alone" won that honor. It was Kevin Costner's first attempt to direct a film. He won the Oscar for Best Director.

WESTERNS! old or new, My favorite...probably Lonesome Dove. even the sequels but definately the 1st one and then the 3rd which would have been better if they'd have kept the same actors. John Wayne westerns like: Eldorado, Big Jake, The Cowboys, and The Shootist. Others like Silverado, Dances with Wolves, and of course Clints The Good, The Bad and the Ugly or Hang em High or... Nowadays, I think Tom Selleck and Sam Elliot are two of the best, although I like Tom Selleck in those Paradise Police Dept movies too. Then War movies, From Band of Brothers to The Longest Day, Saving Private Ryan to Winds of War. If it's got nazies, I'll watch it. Not real big on comedies, but did think "Steambath" was one of the funniest things I ever saw. Bill Bixby, Valerie Perrine, the entire thing takes place in a steambath. if you ever get the chance... Oh, I liked the Indiana Jones Movies too, and Willies Honeysuckle Rose, another comedy I thought was great. Willie's acting is actual better than his singin' well, I thought I could convince somebody. Like my music, I like being able to control what movies I watch, so I have a pretty extensive DVD collection. Like any collector will tell you, half the fun is in the searchin' Camo

I like westerns. Camo named a lot of good ones. Tom Selleck is good in westerns. Quigley Down Under was one of his better ones.
I enjoy Sci-Fi too. I'd watch more of the stuff on the Sy-Fy channel but hubs doesn't like it all that well. Shows like Warehouse 13, Eureka and Haven.

I loved a movie called "American Dreamer," a perfect female escape flick ...
Anybody remember "Foul Play," Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn, hilarious!
Then there are "12 Monkeys," "The Matrix," "The Long Kiss Goodnight," "Liar, Liar"

REALLY enjoyed 'The Apostle' with Robert Duvall, Farrah Fawcett; June Carter Cash. Robert Duvall was excellent, as usual, he puts his heart and soul into his acting, (like Elvis did with his gospel songs).

The Somewhere in Time; with Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve?? One of my very favorites.....I'm too old and jaded to be romantic ;D but every time I've watched that, I end up bawling like a baby at the end. WTH is up with that.

It was raining yesterday and we watched several movies. Little Miss Sunshine is one of my favorites; it's just so hokey!

Saw that last night; it was pretty good. Yeah, hokey too. ;D Liked 'The Haunting of Hill House'; book was better than either movie, of course. The book, 'IT' by Stephan King scared me for more than a few nights....slept with the light on...... ;D Movie was not so good; I mean, c'mon, Richard Thomas as the main character?? Will NEVER watch 'Night of the living dead' again......
