I broke down and asked Sapling-In-Chief what she was wanting from Santa. I am reliably informed a list for Lowe's may turn up soon.

hahahahhaha--- yep been there bought the damn t-shirt and burned that sucker------Men they are sooooooo_____________!
fill in the blank according to your mood! Mine is ticked off right bout now.....
Actually I am sooo dang tired it ain't funny. Had legs cramps last night so was up and down alllll night long. Then dear daughter shows up early this morning with enough garland to decorate the damn town and have some left over...
OK gotta back up--- yesterday I measured and figured how much garland and lights to go across the livingrm/diningrm beam that divides the 2 rooms--- then got up and down the ladder measuring and screwing 1 inch cup hooks in the beam for my planned on garland and lights for Christmas. Been wanting to do this for a couple years now but didn't have the time or energy.. was gonna go buy the garland today. Got the lights already --bought them last year at after Xmas sales but they was outa garland that I wanted.
so she had all this left over from decorating for a big party last year and she brought it all over this morning ---- its all crammed in a box so we got it out and straightened it then measured and put it together long enuff --- 2 long strands to twist together of it --- to match the garland around the entry from diningrm to kithchen which is already up. then put the 2 garland strands together with the lights doubled -- so we can put it up all in one trip up the ladder--- 20 damn feet of it --- gotta have it hanging down a bit trixt the cuphooks --- also in her boxes of decos were upteen bushes of beautiful red poinsettas --- so we cut those apart and grouped in bunches of 3--- 2 bunches for each cup hook----- 7 cuphooks across -- one each side --lr and dr--- then hanging green and gold balls across there . any hooo I have had my exerize today of climbing up and down the ladder... My ceilings are 10 footers and thats a ways up there... She fell off a ladder last week so I didn't want her up there today so she handed and stood back to make sure everything is perfectly the right distance apart and put together right--- hahahhahha---- shes a perfectionist! I swear she measures each distance between the balls and flowers with her eyes----aaarrrgggg! But it looks great!!!! and in order to get the basic garland and lights all back up there next year ---- at each cuphook I put a WHITE chenille stem to hook it all together onto the cuphooks.--that will remain so I dont have to guess where to hang each piece of garland and get it all even... At first she threw a fit about the white stem cause it stuck out like a sore thumb ---- but it cannot be seen once the flowers are up--- and its easy to spot in all that greenry of the garland----
Ohhhh on her garland she used GREEN floral wire but I bet that gets changed cuz she had trouble finding each "'hanger"' do goody. lOl So yeppers I am tired and bet I have leg cramps again tonight....

Good idea about marking the hanging points on the garland. I have one that I hang between the living room and dinning room. Not as large an opening that you had to deal with, but large enough. I *think* I was smart enough to leave the little bell decorations wired to the garland at the hanging points this time around as I was tired of adjusting it in the previous 2 hangings.
I bet it looks great now that you're finished with it.
Hope you avoid the leg cramps and can get some rest.

W8in, Bananas help with the leg cramps from low potassium too. Much tastier than eating a Spud, well unless of course you dress the spud for dinner first Penny, Happy Christmas Shopping. I just realized last night how much I hadn't bought yet!! I think I better get on the bus and go spend some money!

Good early evening all.
Feeling better today. Moved 15 wheelbarrow loads of woodchips to the garden today. Stopped before I overdid it.
While loading the wheelbarrow I had cars stop on 2 different occasions. First was a lady who had bought some mater starts this spring and asked if I was going to have them available again next spring. She also asked about the lemons. The other car was an older lady who was asking about the lemons. She is facing some health problems and wanted to try the variety. Both ladies left with a couple of lemons.
Rest of the day was catching up on housework which got behind yesterday. I was good for not much more than sleeping yesterday.
Temps are warming up again. Lower 40's last 2 mornings and mid 60's to lower 70's daytime last couple days. Today was a might warmer.

Hellooooooo everyone, been busy the last few days with the decorating and sewing.... All my pot holders were about done in so I scrounged up some scraps of material & left over cotten batting from a quilt , and sewed me up some, used up some left over bits and pieces of fabric . Jim walked in asked me WHO I was making those for and I said me --- then realized the 4, I had made up, were NOT my kitchen colors but my daughters --- so thought for a moment -- found some blue fabric with yellow sun flowers so made ME some --- now shes getting pot holders for her kitchen. Haaaa.
Then I found some little stuffed penguins that I started last year and didn't finish so those are sitting by my chair and I am sewing sequins on while watching tv. I will use them for Christmas package toppers and they will have a tree deco for next year.
Our daughter brought over some cracked pecans --- her trees are so loaded this year-- Jim and I helped her pick up some last week--- so Jim is picking out the meats while he watches tv. Her neighbor has a cracker and he also buys and sells her excess from her trees. Even the trees way out at the back side are loaded this year. Her house sets on about 6 acres in town --- they have a RV hookups on one side of the property , she has some out of state pipe liners staying there now while they are working . Well she was walking around with a roller picking up pecans last week and one of the guys asked what she was doing --- Picking up pecans --- he had never seen pecan trees and was amazed thats what they looked like --- had only seen them already shelled out in little packages on the grocery shelves . He had heard them hitting his roof top during the night and wondered what the heck was falling ----

Just got back from a weekend in rainy Ohio! Sure wish we had some of that rain down here in the Carolinas. Am catching up on ornament making for the year 2012. Just rolled out a fresh batch of cinnamon ornaments. Just love the smell of the house with them on the tree.

Cinnamon ornaments and hand-made tables. Good stuff!!
Trying to get the rows ready and get the onion starts in the ground today/tomorrow. Gotta get back on jellies, candies, ornaments and now it's time to start baking the cookies.
Hope to make a batch of lemon jelly today. Waiting to get last load of dishes in the dishwasher so the counters are absolutely clear and sanitized.
Took a pic of the kiddos over the weekend for the Christmas cards. That's always an interesting event. Getting 2 on the same page, not so bad. All 3 requires some persistence. LOL.
Going back out to dig in the last of the humus/manure mix (purchased - egad!) into the onion rows. Should be able to finish moving the woodchip pile this afternoon - maybe.

Been another busy day!!!! Have an order for 50 little stockings (8 inches long) for a big Christmas party open house type event !
Has to be RUSTIC looking , so she brought me yards and yards of tan BURLAP ; way too much but she has plans for it in another event , and wants blue jean type material zig zag pointy cuffs , with a dark blue stitch line for heels and toes . Will bring me some jeans material tomorrow . I have 28 started--- partly sewed and a satin stitch for heels and toes on front side , but waiting on the blue cuff material . Made one up with some old worn out levis pants legs material , its sorta cute iffen one likes the rustic look. LOL . I have a feeling I am gonna hate those triangle cuts before I finish these cuffs !!!! They will hold candy canes and other little gee haw things as a party favor for the guests .
so I took a break and came by to see whats up !!!!!

Busy, busy, busy,
Been up since 2 ayem.
Middle child is well again and off to school. Now #1 child and #3 child are both sick with the same thing. Fever spiking to 104 range. Ibuprofen and Tylenol alternating keep it down to the 101-102 range. Lasts about 24 hours at the elevated temp then drops down to about 100 for another day, and then feel fine, but still sleep for another day. At least that's what the first one did and the other 2 seem to be following in lockstep.
Put up a few more decorations yesterday. Moved a lot of woodchips and picked some winter squash. Temps going down to 35 or so tonight depending on which forecast I look at. So have to find some time to cover stuff. Lots of cookies and jellies and candies and ornaments still to be made.
15 days to Christmas. Arrrrggggg!
